Are you a candidate for a hair transplant for women?
It might surprise you to hear that hair loss and hair transplants for women are both quite common. You are not alone! Men often experience total hair loss in several distinctive patterns. Women’s hair loss is less varied, and is often characterized by severe thinning of the hair rather than total hair loss. Women’s hair loss is much easier to camouflage with styling, so you may know women who are dealing with the same problem, but are very good at hiding it. It’s a problem that can cause a lot of stress and appearance anxiety, much of which can be relieved by a simple operation – a hair transplant for women.
If you’re a woman and you’ve noticed thinning, especially severe thinning right behind the hairline, or if you’re finding more hair than normal on your pillow or hairbrush, come see Dr. Love. We can help you determine why you’re losing your hair, and the best treatment options for you. We can also talk to you as experts in the hair transplant for women field.

Causes of women’s hair loss
If you’re considering a hair transplant for women it’s very important that you undergo a full medical exam before you consider surgical intervention. Sometimes women’s hair loss is caused by other problems. Women lose their hair for a variety of reasons:
- Rapid weight loss – which can itself be a concern
- Thyroid problems – especially hyperthyroidism
- Polycystic ovary syndrome
- Psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis
- Various other ailments
Sometimes we treat the underlying cause of hair loss (conditions 1 – 7 above) and the hair returns on its own with no direct intervention.
But if your hair is falling out for no other medical reason, we can examine you and determine if you have female pattern hair loss. Women’s hair transplants are the best treatment for female pattern hair loss, a condition wherein hair follicles shed normally. But following this normal shedding, the follicles grow progressively thinner hairs after each subsequent shedding. Eventually, the hair stops growing altogether. We can treat this condition with a hair transplant for women!
